RigaTony’s Authentic Italian Restaurant in Tempe is serving joy to those fighting to save lives during these trying times.

Owners Chrissy and Mike Lopercio are offering free meals to first responders and health care workers at their restaurant until April 15. Those interested in picking up the meal, which rotates menu items every few days, should call ahead at 480-899-1111 and pick up the meal curbside at the restaurant, located at 1850 E. Warner Road, with their badge. The deal is limited to two meals per week.

Chrissy says the offer is a token of appreciation for the workers who are putting their own health on the line during an unprecedented stressful time.

“Maybe they’re going through a hard day of work and need to pick up something for lunch, or maybe they just had a tough, long day and they’re just looking for something easy and tasty to take home for dinner after the shift,” she says. “But these people deserve to know we care about them, and this is our way.”

As a 25-year small business in the East Valley, RigaTony’s staff members have participated in several philanthropic campaigns, including regularly serving meals at Paz De Cristo Outreach Center in Mesa.

Now, COVID-19 rampant, RigaTony’s, with this deal, is doing its part to ease tension at least a little bit.

“It’s not about just paying lip service and saying we’re trying to be part of the community, but actually doing something about it,” Chrissy says.

“We know how important it is to give back to the people that help us be successful.”
