Rooftop Pool and Bar at The Camby

Whether you want a simple spot to grab a drink after work or a novel place for date night, a venue on the roof of a building offers a nice change of atmosphere, along with extraordinary views of the Valley. Since it’s sunny here almost all the time, you can enjoy a rooftop excursion at anytime. (Although if it’s 100 degrees out, have a couple extra glasses of water and don’t forget the sunscreen. You’ll thank us later.)

Here’s a look at some of the rooftop and elevated patios around the Valley you’ll want to check out. Don’t worry; you can visit most of these without breaking the bank.

1. LUSTRE Rooftop Bar

LUSTRE inhabits the third floor of The Palomar Hotel in downtown Phoenix. The pool and outdoor lounge stays open year-round and provides stunning views of the city. You can stop for a drink after work, or spend the afternoon poolside as the Arizona sun warms you. They serve flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, beer and specialty cocktails.

2. Skydeck at The Clarendon Hotel

Skydeck serves as the roof of The Clarendon Hotel in central Phoenix. Take in the views of the central Phoenix buildings and the mountains in the distance. You can order food and drinks from Cafe Tranquilo. They host special events like open mic and live jazz so make sure to check their calendar for the latest schedule.

3. Tapacubo at The Graduate

If you haven’t been to Tempe recently, you’ll notice that The Graduate Hotel has been completely redone. One of the new additions is Tapacubo, the hotel’s South American restaurant. Prep your mouth for street tacos and margaritas. Even better, the patio sits on the fourth floor of the hotel and overlooks ASU Gammage and the ASU campus across the street. No better way to relax and take a break from class…or life.

4. Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails

The Blue Hound resides in the heart of downtown Phoenix adjacent to CityScape. Relax at wooden picnic tables on an elevated patio and take in the sights and sounds of the city. Good thing we’re not as loud at New York City so it’ll be a peaceful lunch or dinner break. Blue Hound features a chef-driven menu focused on seasonal American dishes paired with craft cocktails, wine and beer.

5. Rooftop Pool and Bar at The Camby

Spend some time relaxing at the rooftop pool at The Camby Hotel located across from Biltmore Fashion Park. Or catch some sun on the sundeck. They serve up margaritas, cocktails and beers, so you can easily make a day out of it. Hungry? They have salads, sandwiches, and burgers on the menu.

6. Shade at W Scottsdale

Looking for some rest and relaxation? The Shade at the W Scottsdale skews a little bit different from your average rooftop bar. The Shade Lounge gives you both a bar on the inside and a patio to take in some fresh air. If you’re looking for a dip in the pool, they have cabanas and lounges along Sunset Lawn. At night, Shade becomes a nightclub so check the dress code. But, you’ll feel fancy.
