This summer, when the temperatures are staying in the triple digits and it seems like the heat will go on forever, families will find an amazing and relaxing staycation without having to leave the Valley.
Guests will start to feel cooler and more serene the minute they arrive at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Scottsdale Resort; in fact, when they check into their one to four bedroom luxury villas with extra plush amenities, they may never want to go back home.
“Our villas all feature full kitchens and baths with much more space than a typical hotel room,” says James Coon, general manager of Holiday Inn Club Vacations Scottsdale Resort.
“Families can shop at a local market and make dinner in their villa and host their friends or go to our onsite restaurant ArteZania Kitchen & Cantina for a great Southwest-themed meal. No matter what our guests choose to do during their stay, our resort is definitely a place where people can get away from it all and reconnect.”
In the mornings, guests can usually be found at the casual cafe called the Marketplace, which serves fresh coffee, lattes and espresso, along with a variety of quick-serve breakfast foods including the popular avocado toast topped with shredded cheese and bacon. Coon says guests are welcome to take their food back to their rooms or enjoy an “al fresco” meal on the patio or by the pool.
To stay cool on those long, hot summer afternoons, Coon says guests can head to Splash Canyon, which features two thrilling waterslides, including one that is enclosed and extra fast.
“The kids really like that one because of the speedy ride to the bottom,” Coon says.
Splash Canyon also features a splash pad and dump buckets that live up to their names by releasing cool water on the heads of swimmers below.
“Splash Canyon is definitely the best place to cool off,” Coon says.
For guests who want a quieter pool experience, the Serenity Pool lives up to its name, with its smaller size and more relaxing feel. The Waterfall Pool is also a beautiful and idyllic place to relax.
The fourth pool at the resort is the Social Pool, where guests can visit with friends and family and have a great time swimming and splashing in the sparkling water.
The friendly staff at the resort also offers a number of family-friendly activities for parents and kids throughout the summer months; this includes cornhole games, movie nights and other events.
At lunch and dinner, hungry guests will find plenty of delicious options at the onsite restaurant ArteZania Kitchen & Cantina.
“At ArteZania, we feature the freshly-made concept, so everything is prepared daily in-house,” Coon says, adding that the street tacos, tasty burgers and freshly-made guacamole are all popular with guests—as is the refreshingly delicious signature margarita, made with plenty of freshly-squeezed lime juice.
Although guests can definitely find plenty of ways to relax and have fun during their summer stay at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Scottsdale Resort, the property is close to shopping, dining and golf at the TPC Scottsdale.
“Desert Ridge Marketplace is close by and so is Kierland Commons,” Coon says, adding that for those who want to check out some local scenic landmarks, the resort is a short drive from Tom’s Thumb and Pinnacle Peak.
In the evening, Signature Collection guests can retire to their cool and comfortable villas, where they are sure to enjoy the extra special amenities that are part of the villas.
“Our Signature Collection villas are our top tier luxury product and feature upgraded décor, kitchens, bathrooms and a VIP lounge check-in,” Coon says.
The gorgeous kitchens are fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and an espresso machine with a selection of gourmet coffees and teas, and the bathrooms offer tubs with hydro-jets along with premium bath amenities.
Televisions are in both the living room and all bedrooms, so parents can relax with a movie at night while their kids enjoy their own shows in their very own rooms. The resort offers an assortment of new-release DVDs to its guests, along with CDs and electronic games.
So far 10 of Holiday Inn Club’s 26 resorts around the United States include Signature Collection villas, Coon says.
“We look forward to hosting local families who are looking for a staycation, as well as their out- of-town guests.”
