The Valley has a palette of paint and wine classes from which to choose. The best part is guests do not need to be Picasso to take part in these events. Over the course of an evening, painters teach guests step by step how to create their own artwork. Students can even bring their own alcohol to sip throughout the class. Here are a few places to channel your inner van Gogh.
Paint and Wine at The Painters Lounge
Learn how to paint a masterpiece while sipping fine wine. Artwork ranging from nature scenes to holiday designs is posted on the website a few months in advance so guests can choose which pattern they would like to use. The Painters Lounge does not serve alcohol, but students are welcome to bring unopened drinks and snacks to enjoy. Drinks must be fully consumed by the end of the paint night.

Come to Pinot’s Palette to enjoy a fun night out, while brushing up on art skills during its open session hours. Most paintings are inspired by nature, but there are holiday selections, too. Join their Pinot Perks rewards club to start earning points toward free paint and sip sessions. This location offers Uber and Lyft services to guests as well.

Art of Merlot
Take a trip back to the 19th century and recreate famous impressionist paintings from the likes of Monet, and post-impressionist pieces by van Gogh. They offer two- and three-hour painting sessions, depending on the painting’s difficulty. Templates are offered at each class to help guests add detail and dimension to their work. Guests can bring their own alcohol or purchase it here.

Painting with a Twist
Create eclectic paintings, from a sunset in Belize to a unicorn with an ice cream cone for a horn. They also offer paintings with a local twist, such as Starry Night over Tempe Town Lake. Patrons can bring their own wine or beer for classes after 4 p.m. Family and senior classes will be available at a discounted price.

Choose from a wide range of painting classes that are offered almost every day of the year. Uptown art also offers kids and family afternoons throughout the year where kids can paint whimsical art such as a dolphin or a unicorn. Once a month they host a special “Paint Your Pet” night. After registering online, guests send in a picture of their pet to be sketched on a canvas, which will be ready for them to paint when they arrive. Other unique painting events include painting on a black canvas or on a wooden palette.
