Let’s make one thing clear… Mini is not a small dog. The 50-pound Labrador mix has mastered the “sit” command and she is almost completely housetrained. She is also the master of fetching and she is able to pluck a tennis ball from midair. The 3-year-old can easily entertain herself by tossing a stuffed toy in the air and then catching it while she races around the yard.
Her goofy Labrador antics seem to put a smile on everyone’s face and her happy- go-lucky spirit is simply contagious. She loves to be close to her human companions and she tends to think of herself as a lap dog- clumsily lugging her muscular frame onto the couch when she is craving snuggle time with her owner.
Moments later, she is ready for a hike or perhaps a jog around the block and a game of fetch is the perfect way to end the day. She loves playing in the garden hose while you water the flowers and she happens to be an excellent swimmer as well.
She would enjoy a canine play buddy who is as energetic as she is but she has yet to meet a feline so introduce her slowly. She is great with older kids but she tends to jump up when she’s excited so training and older children are recommended.
Mini is just one of over 150 dogs that are currently looking for a home at the Arizona Humane Society. All the dogs have been spayed or neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption.
