Hamilton is the story of America’s Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, Hamilton is the story of America then, as told by America now.

Tickets are being released daily for upcoming performances. For tickets, visit the ASU Gammage website.

A Digital Lottery will begin at 11am January 28 for tickets to the January 30 performance. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin two days prior to each performance. Download the app to enter the lottery.

Forty (40) Orchestra tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each.

Kid Koala: Nufonia Must Fall

Montreal-based scratch DJ and music producer Kid Koala presents a magical, multidisciplinary adaptation of his graphic novel Nufonia Must Fall. The story centers around a headphones-sporting robot on the verge of obsolescence and infatuated with a winsome office drone. This live adaptation unfolds via real-time filming of more than a dozen miniature stages and a cast of puppets. Koala and the dynamic Afiara Quartet provide live scoring on piano, strings, and turntables.

Candide

Arizona Opera celebrates composer Leonard Bernstein’s centennial with the company premiere of Candide. Fast-paced, funny, and philosophical, this Tony award-wining Broadway smash is now considered an operatic masterpiece. Based on the novella by Voltaire, the naïve Candide sets off to explore the world, beset by an endless series of comedic disasters. With musical highlights including “Glitter and Be Gay” and “Make Your Garden Grow,” Candide leaves audiences humming hit tunes and affirms that the path to happiness is seldom straight.
