Featured event: S’more Sweets Festival

With a name like S’more Sweets Festival, is there any doubt it will become one of Queen Creek’s most mouthwatering signature events?

Sweets Fest attendees will taste their way through massive sundaes, cotton candy towers, candy-topped waffles, chocolates, cupcakes, lollipops and a seemingly never-ending assortment of other sweet treats. Guests at this year’s inaugural event can expect an abundance all things syrupy, sugary and crave-able in this Candyland come-to-life event. Take a leisurely stroll through the Lollipop Forest or the Cupcake Commons or partake in pie-eating, karaoke and an array of other family-friendly entertainment options to work off those calories consumed.

Disney’s The Lion King Jr.

January 25-January 28

The Lion King Jr. tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious cub named Simba as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as king. Along the way, the young lion encounters a colorful cast of characters including spunky lioness Nala, charismatic meerkat Timon and loveable warthog Pumbaa.

The Lion King JR. features classic songs from the 1994 film such as “Hakuna Matata” and the Academy Award ® -winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” as well as additional songs penned for the Broadway production.

Adam Sandler

The goofball behind Big Daddy, Grown Ups and 50 First Dates comes to Phoenix for one night with a comedy show featuring surprise guests. Known as a stand-up comedian and actor, Sandler also doubles as a musician. His live show is sure to throw it all together alongside plenty of raunchy laughs.

Arizona Balloon Classic

A field full of illuminated, tethered, hot air balloons will glow in time to music. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, the sky will be filled with colorful hot air balloons participating in thrilling “Hare & Hound” races from the grassy fields of the Goodyear Ballpark. Spectators can walk on the field and experience the balloons inflation and lift off. Photo taking is invited.

9th Annual Grand Wine Festival Awards Gala

January 27-January 28

The Festival celebrates the best in Arizona’s four wine growing regions. More than 30 wineries will be pouring over 150 wines. The festival offers wine tasting and sales by the glass, bottle, and case. Other programming includes music, a small selection of vendors, and an auction on Saturday.

Each Moth Mainstage features simple, old-fashioned storytelling by five wildly divergent raconteurs who develop and shape their stories with The Moth’s directors.
