Aguila Golf Course
There are several golf courses to choose from in the Phoenix area, but the Aguila Golf Course is consistently ranked as one of the top public courses in the area. This 18 hole championship golf course is located on South 35th Avenue and it has a lot to offer for today’s most skilled golfer and golfers who are just starting out, such as youth golf classes, golf clinics for golfers who need to improve their skills and even the opportunity to hold tournaments on the course for your golfing group.
The Aguila Golf Course was completed in 1999 and today it includes an expert staff of professional golfers. Jerry Zidow is the Golf Course Superintendent and he has been in the management position for many years. He spent more than 14 years as the superintendent of another popular Phoenix golf course before coming to the Aguila Golf Course in 1999. Since then, he has been superintendent of the Aguila Golf Course. He is also a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Arizona. Janet Anderson is also on staff and she played on the LGPA tour for 20 years from 1978 to 1997. In 1982, she won the U.S. Women’s Open and she continues to be a major player on the Women’s Senior Golf Tour. At the Aguila Golf Course, she offers lessons and other help for golfers who come through.
The Aguila Golf Course includes more than 200 acres of golfing greens and facilities. There are several bunkers to add a degree of difficulty to the course and golfers will appreciate the beautiful surroundings which include the South Mountain, mature trees and other landscaping features that help make the golfing experience even more enjoyable than it already is.
When you’re done golfing, you can stop by the Eagle’s Nest Café on the Aguila Golf Course property and have a great lunch or breakfast so you can spend an entire morning or afternoon at one of Pheonix’s premier golf courses.
