Spencer Tunick documents the live nude figure in public with photography and video in site-specific installations. His installations encompass dozens, hundreds or thousands of volunteers without their clothing, grouped together to metamorphose into a new shape. His photographs are records of these events, ultimately challenging one’s views of nudity and privacy.
Tunick will share images of his recent project in Israel when 1,200 Israelis disrobed for him in the Dead Sea. He will be joined by Gordon Knox, director of ASU Art Museum, and St©phane Janssen, local art collector and model.
This gallery talk is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Performing for the Camera and is sponsored by St©phane Janssen.
