The Maricopa County Home Shows has been voted the best home show in Arizona and a top 10 national event since 1993. Arizona’s largest home shows in attendance and exhibitors are held annually five times a year at the AZ State Fairgrounds, University of Phoenix Stadium & Westworld of Scottsdale.

Grand Canyon Suite: An HD Experience

Grofé’s picturesque Grand Canyon Suite wowed sold-out audiences during the Symphony’s 2012 performance, and the National Park’s 100-year anniversary performance will feature Westwater Arts high-definition images of the Grand Canyon projected above the orchestra in Symphony Hall. Assistant Conductor Matthew Kasper continues this patriotic program with Barber’s Second Essay for Orchestra and the unique compositional style of Charles Ives with his Second Symphony.

Native American Cultural Experience Days

Saturday, January 12

Enjoy local Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian community artist Alice Manuel as she demonstrates how to weave Native American baskets. She will share information about the art of basket weaving and its significance to their culture. Ambassadors the SRPMIC Community will be on hand to share about cultural traditions and history. Join for Native American flute and guitar music by Aaron White who will be in Conservatory from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sunday A’Fair 32nd Season Free Concerts in the Park

Sunday, January 13

Celebrating its 32nd season, Sunday A’Fair features free outdoor concerts in Scottsdale Civic Center Mall by top Arizona musicians, along with an arts-and-crafts market, fun activities for children and families and free docent-led tours of the sculptures in the park.

Picnic baskets are welcome. Delicious foods from the grill, snacks, cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks are also available for purchase. No outside alcohol allowed. Schedule is subject to change. Events may be canceled due to inclement weather.
