From the Cheap Seats –
University of Arizona Wildcats – Fighting at .500
The University of Arizona has pulled even 3-3 for the season they look to clear .500 with a win against Washington this weekend. The Wildcats have had some tough games against Oregon and the tough loss to Stanford. Arizona could easily be 5-1 or 4-2 at this point in the season but need to avoid some late game breakdowns if they want to get back on their winning ways.
Washington is also 3-3 and have pretty much faced the same thing Arizona has during the season so both teams are motivated to win. It’s never easy to come back after a heartbreaking loss like they experienced against Stanford but we will see where Rich Rodriguez has this team and how ready to play there are because if they come out flat Washington could very easily run right over him.
But it is good to see the excitement back in the football program again and I expect great things from the Wildcats and their faithful following. As I stated earlier I thought Rich Rodriguez was a great selection for the Arizona Wildcats and he’s proving to have an impact right away and it’s always important in the first transitional year coach experiences.
The players have definitely bought into the system are coming around it was a tough loss both against Stanford and Oregon but I suspect the coach will have them ready to play and the Wildcats will come away with a win.
I’m disappointed that I don’t get the chance to get down to Tucson like it used to because it’s a very friendly city and I enjoyed my time while visiting there. The Tucson faithful are good and passionate fans and support the team 100%. It’s been quite a while since both our D-1 college football teams were playing well at the same time and could very realistically go bowling in December or January.
Time will tell but let’s not get ahead of ourselves and take things one week at a time.
The me know what you think about the article and the Wildcats season so far by leaving a comment below. And once again thank you for your continued support.
