The Phoenix Suns – As it stands now
In a few weeks the Phoenix Suns will begin the preseason and the task of forming a new team face a new direction would have begun. Preseason games start October 10th and its there that will begin to see what exactly we have and the Phoenix Suns. Outside of that there’s not a lot to report about the Suns, so I thought it best to give you the roster as it stands right now as a place to start.

As you can see by this current roster the Phoenix Suns have gotten much younger much quicker than ever thought before. The 2011/2012 season ended with a very old looking team and even though a few of the fan favorites are gone, this is a step in the right direction.
Is this a team that can get us to the playoffs? That remains to be seen because I do believe we do have some solid players in place that play hard but
there’re too many factors that will be left unanswered until we see this team play. But what I do see is a roster of players that are in transition and if the Suns can maximize their upcoming draft picks after this season, the Phoenix Suns will be a team to contend with in the West. We can add three number one draft picks in two number two draft picks in the upcoming draft after this season so we stand a strong chance to pick up some excellent players for this mix.
With that many draft picks available it would be very easy for the Phoenix Suns to move up in the draft and get a top draft pick and not be out anything so I do expect the start of the season to have our excitement levels begin to grow again. A lot of people might change but even more people hate being the same and it was time for this Phoenix Suns team after last season to end.
I hope the Phoenix Suns faithful can continue to support this team through this season even if it is a leaner time but my faith in the Suns has been reinvigorated and I like the direction were heading. There weren’t a lot of Suns fans that were happy to see Larry Nance get traded and yet that brought Kevin Johnson to the Valley. Even more people were unhappy to see Jeff Hornacek get traded but it brought Charles Barkley to Phoenix. That combination of trades enabled the Phoenix Suns to get to the NBA finals and I think we need to keep this in mind for this coming season. We’re not where we need to be but at least we’re heading in that direction and were not to be where we were last year.
Like it or not Phoenix fans, Steve Nash is a Laker but in a couple of years when Nash is retired and Bryant is done the Phoenix Suns will dominate this division because all Lakers will have is Dwight Howard with the bad back and a horrible team to surround him like he had in Orlando.
Hang in there Suns fans!!!
