From the Cheap Seats –
Arizona Diamondbacks – Is this our first step?
With MLB’s ALCS and NLCS in full swing it’s good to know that the Arizona Diamondbacks are dedicating themselves to dealing with the clubs biggest challenges. I say that with tongue-in-cheek because the Diamondbacks have parted ways with Darren Sutton and Mark Grace in the booth.
There’s all kinds of talk about Bob Brenly going back to Arizona to take over the booth responsibilities but personally I’d rather see him as general manager or manager. But I doubt that’s to happen anytime soon plus his been noted that Brenly is a hot commodity and many teams will be pursuing him. Personally I think these too talented to be up in the booth and should be back managing the club but that’s not my call.
But it’s nice to know that the Diamondbacks are addressing the true problems of the team because after all it was Sutton and Grace’s fault that the Diamondbacks underachieved this season.
When my team is done for the season I lose all interest in the sport and really don’t care what happens or who wins. It’s not sour grapes it’s just the way I am and I could care less about other teams. Occasionally something could happen to keep my interest in the sport, say for instance the Chicago Cubs make it to the World Series, then I would watch. But what are the chances on that happening?
The four remaining teams trying to make it to the World Series are the San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers and the New York Yankees. It might as well be Iran, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan trying to get to the World Series. I have no love for any of these teams, there is no clear underdog so there’s no real point to watch the series between these teams.
It has been interesting to see some of the players that the Diamondbacks have traded end up in the playoffs. It’s odd that other teams will use our players to get where we want to be, that weird or is it just me?
Otherwise there’s not a lot to report on the baseball front I may go to an every other week article regarding the Diamondbacks and their moves to improve the team. I’m sure the new announcers in the booth will lead this team to the playoffs next season because it’s oh so important to have the right guys in the booth set the tone for the season.
I would like to hear from you Diamondbacks fans to hear what you think we need to do for next season because pitchers report in January so give me your thoughts. Just leave a comment below and let’s talk.
I would like to thank you for your continued support.
